JoAnn Elizabeth Andrews, age 77, rose to eternal glory on May 9, 2026, with her sister by her side.
She was born in Newport, Rhode Island on November 11, 1948. She was the third child of Harry G Andrews and Martha W Andrews. She graduated from St. Anne’s School for Girls in Arlington Heights, MA where she made lifelong friendships. Her career began as a Medical Assistant, and she went on to be a Radiologic Technologist specializing in MRI and working at hospitals in the Boston area.
In her younger years she loved to travel the world. She loved visiting Alaska, but her favorite travels took her to England, Scotland and Wales, and she always brought back souvenirs for her loved ones. As she got closer to retirement she continued her traveling, but kept it within the country. She jumped in her RV and traveled from coast to coast, finding all the best bird watching spots, her favorites being Washington and Texas. The RV Woman group added to her friendships, and she enjoyed attending RV rallies with them.
From her overseas travels she became very interested in ancestry and spent countless hours tracing our heritage. She was thrilled to find and make contact with family in Scotland, and loved being in touch with them. Certain familial lines she has traced back to the 1600’s.
She is survived by her sister, Florence Andrews; and brother, Harry (Val) Andrews; nieces, Donna (Scott) Darnell, Suzanne Cassidy, Robin Andrews, and Kimberly (Kim) Keech); nephew, Christopher (Dena) Pimental; and great-nieces and nephews, Caitlyn (Scott) Keith, Kelsey Darnell, Tyler Pimental, Michael Cassidy, Erica Cassidy, Brandon Andrews, Braxton Webb, Claire Keech and Kaitlyn Keech.
Cremation has taken place, and she will rest in her home state. There will be a memorial service in the autumn of this year.
JoAnn had a huge heart for all those she cared about, and family meant everything to her. In her memory, please hold your family tight and never miss a chance to tell them you love them.
