Service for JoAnn White:

JoAnn (Edmonds) White, 71, passed away November 23, 2021 in her home town of Pueblo, Colorado. Preceded in death by her parents, Berta and York Edmonds, sister Eleanor Koester (Raymond), and brother Donald Edmonds (Yvonne). Out of 3 siblings, she is survived by her brother John Edmonds (Carol), who lives in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on April 12, 1950 in Pueblo. JoAnn was married 46 years to Mark White on June 14, 1975, and had 3 children; Amanda Murphy (Jeremy), James White, and Jillian White, with one grandchild, Willa Rose Murphy, and 6 nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was a graduate of Pueblo East High School, class of 1968, and received BA and Master’s degrees in Education at what is now Colorado State University, Pueblo. She taught her entire career at Haff Elementary School in Pueblo for 30 years, with the majority of time as a second-grade teacher.
In addition to her love of cooking, she enjoyed entertaining with family and friends, shopping, traveling, and landscape gardening with flowers. We will miss the dedication it takes to make a warm and friendly home environment and constant display of flowers throughout spring, summer, and fall. We were blessed to share our lives with her, and will miss her dearly. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Dec. 14, 2021, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Reception following service, Booth Hall at First United Methodist Church. Online condolences, www.MontgomerySteward.com

  1. Mark, just Tuesday Bruce & I were commenting that it was flag day. And then we began to reminisce about your wedding. I went online to see what JoAnn was doing. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. We were good friends all through college. And I am sorry we lost touch over the years. Please know our sympathies go out to you and your family. Please relay my condolences to her brother John as well.

  2. Mark and family, I am sorry for your loss.
Mrs. White was my first stepping stone at Haaff when I did my student teaching with her. I have many fond memories of my days with her. I will always be grateful for the guidance I received there as I continue my own path in education. Once a “tiger…always a tiger.” 🧡
You all are in my thoughts,
    Brandy Vitale-Burbidge
