JoAnn A. Dobson

JoAnn Dobson, 78, of Pueblo, Colo., was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Pasadena, Calif. and passed away on Feb. 17, 2011. Preceded in death by husband, Boone Dobson; parents, James and Jeanetta Garrow; and sister, Jeanetta Filmore. Survived by daughter, Vickie (Jim) Meserve; grandchildren, Mike, Myles and Dillon; brother-in-law, Frank Filmore; sisters, Nancy Scopen and Sharon Matisohn; nieces, Jeanetta Kirby and Cookie (Brian) Henderson; great-nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Kerry) Fisher, Jody (Mark) Friend, Stacy (Brian) Baxter, Keith Henderson, David (Nicole) Henderson, Todd Henderson, James (Jordan) Henderson and Brandon (Courtney) Henderson; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. She graduated from SCSC with a nursing degree, worked at Parkview Medical Center and then for Dr. G.W. Hurley for 26 years. After retirement she worked at numerous nursing facilities. JoAnn was a member of Church of Latter-Day Saints, Relief Society counselor, primary teacher, Sunday School teacher and visiting teacher. Member of Assistance League of Pueblo and past president of Assistance League of Pueblo Auxiliary. She was an avid Bridge player, member of Hearts and Spades, Real Deal Bridge Club and Bridge Connection. JoAnn enjoyed her outings with loving friends, Anna Marie Lough, Ruth Fimple, Ann Carruth and Theresa Koller. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt. She was very proud of her grandchildren. Thank you to Dr. Puls and Parkview Medical Center staff for the loving care they gave her and to Sangre de Cristo Hospice for the kindness during her last moments.
