Jennie R. Alvarado, 98, passed away March 1, 2011. Survived by her children, Lucia (Rudy) Hernandez of Pueblo and Roberta (Martin) Medina of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Anita (Frank) Harlan, Dave (Nancy) Humphries, Andres (Deanna) Hernandez, Ines (Angelo) Perea and Christina Hernandez; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband, Cirilo Alvarado; two sisters; and one brother. Jennie was born to Selso and Maria Roque on June 12, 1912, in Durango, Mexico. She was very spiritual; a member of Cathedral of Sacred Heart and Virgen of Guadelupe at Mt. Carmel. Jennie enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, playing BINGO and gardening, especially her roses. She was also a great cook! Friends and relatives may be received at the home of Lucia Hernandez. Rosary, 6 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011, and funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, with the Rev.
