Celebration of Life:
Jeffry Paul Salerno, 72, also known as “Grandpa Jeff”, passed away on January 25,2025. He passed away at home in Pueblo West, with his wife and children by his side. Although he fought fiercely, Jeff lost his 10-month battle to Cholangiocarcinoma cancer.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cris; his sons, Nic, Anthony, Joshua (Amanda); grandkids, Dominic, Cooper, Taylor (Toots), Luke and Jenni; and his “bonus grandson” Caden Hart; and his two golden retriever puppies Moose and Bear.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Pauline Salerno; his brother, Randy Salerno; his in-laws Ray and Pauline McNeely; brothers-in-law, Ray Gallen and Jimmy McNeely; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Jeff was born on May 22, 1952, in San Francisco, California. He graduated from Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, California, in 1970 and remained in touch with those same high school friends throughout the years.
Jeff worked in the Utah and Colorado coal mines for 23 years. After moving to Pueblo, he worked at EVRAZ for 20 years, where he retired. He had found his dream retirement job as an RSO at the Pueblo West Sportsman Association.
After his retirement from EVRAZ Jeff and Cris spent several years camping in Arizona during the winters, going on cruises and spending time with their cousins in Florida. Jeff and Cris absolutely loved their lives. Jeff will always be remembered for the Christmas light displays he put on every year.
More than anything he loved his family. He cherished going on camping trips with his sons, friends, grandsons, granddaughters, nieces and nephews. He was always proud watching his sons and grandsons play sports. He enjoyed watching Taylor play flag football and was looking forward to her softball journey.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in the Montgomery & Steward Funeral Chapel. A reception with Spirits and Snacks will be held following the service. The family would be honored if you would bring or send your favorite memory of Jeff to Cris@CrisSalerno.com
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jeff’s memory be made to Pueblo County 4-H Shooting Sports at 701 Court Street, Suite C, Pueblo, CO 81003.

Great friend going to miss him!!
Just wanting to let and your family know that I’m thinking of you all during this sad time. I wish we’d had more time to spend together, but have warm memories of our get – togethers . My Dad (and I) thought the world of his sister, Jeff’s Mom, Aunt Pauline and we kids did lots of playing and having good times together.
Take care of yourselves.
Some people just make you feel better when you’re around them. They are sunshine to your soul and medicine for your mind. Jeff, you will be missed
Praying for all of you
Cris, so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you
