Jeffrey Todd Roby. Son of a U.S. State Department employee, Jeff was born Feb. 24, 1955, in the Panama Canal Zone. He was raised in Panama, Ecuador, Paraguay, Costa Rica and St. Petersburg, Fla. RN and certified nurse anesthetist par excellence, Jeff practiced with considerable skill and dedication in St. Petersburg, Mobile, Ala., and Paris, Tenn. Retired in Pueblo, Colo. Recently diagnosed with rapidly progressing lung cancer, and having witnessed needless suffering of many patients, Jeff bravely chose to end his life in his home in Pueblo on Oct. 5, 2016. Predeceased by parents, Anne and Al Roby. Remembered with great love by sister, Judy, and her husband, Rick Fowler; son, Matthew; granddaughter, Jasmine; nieces, Sarah and Alice; and many devoted friends. We will all miss his generous spirit, voracious appetite for learning, epic and hilarious storytelling, and most of all, his enthusiasm for life.

I had the pleasure of working with Jeff in surgery for many and had the utmost respect for my friend, valued our friendship and appreciated his expertise in anesthesia. Loved the way he treated people & philosophied life. Jeff could spin a thought or idea into un-critical a-ha moments that would segway into hours of conversation that felt like minutes because he was so engaging.
