Jeffrey Todd Roby. Son of a U.S. State Department employee, Jeff was born Feb. 24, 1955, in the Panama Canal Zone. He was raised in Panama, Ecuador, Paraguay, Costa Rica and St. Petersburg, Fla. RN and certified nurse anesthetist par excellence, Jeff practiced with considerable skill and dedication in St. Petersburg, Mobile, Ala., and Paris, Tenn. Retired in Pueblo, Colo. Recently diagnosed with rapidly progressing lung cancer, and having witnessed needless suffering of many patients, Jeff bravely chose to end his life in his home in Pueblo on Oct. 5, 2016. Predeceased by parents, Anne and Al Roby. Remembered with great love by sister, Judy, and her husband, Rick Fowler; son, Matthew; granddaughter, Jasmine; nieces, Sarah and Alice; and many devoted friends. We will all miss his generous spirit, voracious appetite for learning, epic and hilarious storytelling, and most of all, his enthusiasm for life.

  1. Jeff was a pleasure to be around, and always made time for me and other people in his life. I’ll miss our kayaking @ Kentucky lake & Costa Rican adventure stories. Loved the way he treated people & philosophied life. Jeff could spin a thought or idea into un-critical a-ha moments that would segway into hours of conversation that felt like minutes because he was so engaging. May your adventures continue on the flip side Jeff.

I had the pleasure of working with Jeff in surgery for many and had the utmost respect for my friend, valued our friendship and appreciated his expertise in anesthesia. One of a kind, awesome, intelligent, generous and selfless person! Will be missed. Go rest high my friend.
