James P. Thompson of Pueblo West, Colo., died from natural causes January 31, 2023, at Parkview Medical Centre. He was 74.
He grew up in the Denver area, attending Holy Family High School and the University of Colorado, Denver. He worked in management, including as manager of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and later the Visalia Convention Center in California. In his free time he enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including fishing, photography and music.
He is preceded in death by parents, Joe and Margaret (McGinty) Thompson and brother, Jerrold Thompson. He is survived by siblings, John, Joe and Mary; children, Ben Thompson and Chris Thompson; and grandchildren, Jaden, Alexandra, Ian and Zane.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Lone Tree Hub, 8827 Lone Tree Parkway, Lone Tree, CO 80124.
Jim was a good man. Last of a dying breed. One of the most intelligent men I had ever met. I will miss his wit and humor. RIP my friend.
