James L. 'Jim' Rogers, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 28, 2014. Survived by his wife, Kathy A. (Postlewait) Rogers; children, Joe (Connie) Rogers, Scott (Jan) Rogers, Daniel (Cheri) Rogers, Terri Phillips, Gordon (Kathy) Rogers, Bill Rogers, Lynette Rogers and Larryn Rogers; stepchildren, Scott (Sheila) Lewis, Rebecca (Jason) Grider and Robert Valdez; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Ford and Ardith Rogers. Jim was born to Donald and Gladys Rogers on July 2, 1935, in Longmont, Colo. He worked as a diesel mechanic for 40 years. He taught Sunday School and was Junior Church Pastor for 22 years at Temple Baptist and later taught Sunday School at Rocky Mountain Baptist. Viewing, 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday upstairs at Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at Rocky Mountain Baptist Church, 2901 O'Neal Ave., with Pastor Gordon Rogers officiating. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.
