James 'Jim' Galbraith Armstrong, born Aug. 4, 1929, in Eastland, Texas, to Mary Lee Galbraith and James Miller Armstrong. Married Nov. 25, 1953, to Bessie (Elizabeth) Jackson. Attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. Was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Jim was first and foremost a cowboy and rancher. He began his career in the mid-1940s working on the Mcalpine Ranch in Huerfano County, Colo. In 1950, he relocated to Watrous, N. M. where he owned a cow/calf operation. In 1962, he moved to Monte Vista, Colo. where he ranched for over twenty years before moving to Pueblo and running a ranch operation in Pueblo County. He was a strong supporter of the military and a patriotic American. Jim was a quiet man, but confident in his word and deed, and always in charge. Preceded in death by his loving spouse, Bessie and his son, James Thomas 'Tom' Armstrong. Survived by his children, Jackson (Susan) Armstrong, Stephen L. Armstrong; daughter-in-law, Mary Yergert; grandchildren, Malinda (Chris) Matthew, J.W. Armstrong, Cambria Armstrong, Jackson Ryan Armstrong and Travis Armstrong and great-grandchildren, Luke Armstrong, Jentry Matthew and Aislin Matthew.   1. I am sorry to hear the passing of Jim. May you be comforted by God\’s word in John 5:28, 29 and Acts 24:15 that there will be a resurrection to life of all our dear loved ones.

  2. Our sympathy goes out to Jack, Steve and Family. I thought the world of your folks and definitely have very fond memories of growing up as neighbors. Jim will surly be missed.
