James Edson, 85, passed away Feb. 21, 2019. Survived by wife, Edith; sons, Doug (Nancy) and Ken; granddaughters, Andrealyn and Kelsie; brother, William (Sally); brother-in-law, David (Lynda) McDowell; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by parents, Melvin and Thelma Edson. James taught in District 60 for 39 years, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and the Pueblo Zoo and was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 9, 2019, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 University Circle. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to Pueblo Zoo, 3455 Nuckolls Ave., Pueblo, CO 81005, Pueblo Habitat for Humanity, 2313 S Prairie Ave., Pueblo, CO 81005 or Westminster Presbyterian Memorial Fund, 10 University Circle, Pueblo, CO 81005.   1. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Mr. Edson was was my fifth grade teacher at Washington Elementary in the early 60’s. He was a great teacher and mentor.

  2. My condolences. Mr. Edson was my brother and my 5th-grade teacher at Washington Elementary circa 70s-80s. He was a kind and patient person and most of all … a great teacher. We both would like to say thank you.

  3. Jim was always a cheerful helpful docent training me at the Pueblo Zoo. His calm thoughtful teaching style helped many students to appreciate our natural world!!
