Service for Jake Woods:

Jake Woods, 39, of Pueblo West, passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident on May 14, 2022. He was born February 25th, 1983, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Penny Bressey and the late Edgar Woods. Jake was married to Renee Woods on July 23rd, 2010. He is preceded in death by his father, Edgar; daughter, Harley; and beloved dog, Baxter. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Renee Woods; daughters, Zoey Rae (11), Rilee Jean (5) and  Emily Jo (1); parents, Doug and Penney Bressey; sister, Meagan (Jake) Mince; niece, Rayleigh Mince; and nephew, Peter Mutz. Jake is also survived by in-laws, John and Gina Trujillo, Sammi (Jacob) Mutz, and Shannon (Joe) Trujillo; and numerous relatives and friends. Jake graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science Solar Energy from Pueblo Community College in 2015. He was employed by Photon Brothers as a Lead Solar Installer and Electrical Apprentice. He was dedicated and loved to work for Photon and considered everyone there family. Jake loved his family so much; he was constantly working on the house to make it Renee’s dream home by installing central air or redoing and landscaping their entire 1/2-acre backyard. He dreamed of giving his wife and girls the house of their dreams and was working diligently to make it happen for them.  Jake was a beloved father, to his three girls. Zoey, Rilee, and Emily adored him and they were his whole world. He was always the first one screaming and cheering Zoey on in her soccer games or wrestling and play fighting with Rilee or tucking Emily into his arms and rocking her to sleep. His girls were his everything and he was building an incredible life for them. Jake was a one-of-a-kind friend and the most generous person you would ever meet; even if he didn’t have much to give, he would give everything if it meant helping a friend or his family. He was the most loyal soul to his family and friends and had the heart of a protector; Jake also had a great love for the Dallas Stars hockey team, Oklahoma State University College Football team, riding motorcycles, and Star Wars. If he wasn’t cheering on the Stars or Cowboys, you could find him putting together a Star Wars Lego set. Jake also enjoyed ice fishing and playing corn-hole. He was always willing to jump in any game and make it a great time with an infectious laugh for everyone involved. Jake was working hard to better the lives of everyone he met and especially his family’s, even in his death we are still seeing all the lives he touched and his ability to still care for his family. His family admired him, and his friends cherished him dearly. He was a fighter to the end. We will forever miss him.
