Henry T. Ballinger

Henry T. Ballinger, 83, passed away Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2011, in Pueblo, Colo. Widowed in 2010, wife Betty Fay of nearly 60 years. Survived by daughters, Marsha Boyette and Rebecca Ballinger; son, David Ballinger (wife Merrill); grandsons, Austin and Nathan; and granddaughter, Sherry. Henry Tosh Ballinger was born in Atlanta, Georgia on Jan. 17, 1928. He graduated from Mercer University, in Macon Georgia and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Forth Worth, Texas where he met his wife. Henry was licensed to the ministry of the gospel in Decatur, Georgia in 1945. Henry and Fay moved to Walsenburg, Colo. where Henry was the pastor of the First Baptist Church. They then moved to Pueblo, where Henry started and was pastor for the Pleasant View Baptist Church. Henry also worked for Dana Corporation in the piston division as he raised his family in Pueblo. Henry was a member of New Heights Baptist church. His favorite pastime and hobby was flying airplanes and owned and renovated a 1947 Stinson single engine plane. Memorial service, 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at New Heights Baptist Church, 3304 Baltimore Ave. Private interment, Mountain View Cemetery.
