Helen L. Dysart, 90, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026. Helen was born in Buffalo, Missouri. She spent most of her life in Kansas City, Missouri, where she built a life centered on family, hard work, and lasting friendships. In 2006, she and her beloved husband, Gene, moved to Pueblo West, Colorado, where they enjoyed the community and made many cherished friends together.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Dysart, in 2018.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Gena Gonzales; her grandson, Trey McLaughlin; and her son-in-law, Daniel Gonzales, who currently reside in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Throughout her life, Helen worked as a secretary, served as a playground monitor, and devoted herself to her family as a homemaker. She was known for her kindness, warm spirit, and the joy she found in spending time with others.
Helen loved bowling, boating, and especially spending sunny days at their backyard pool with family and friends. A lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals, she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite teams and took great pride in supporting Kansas City’s sports traditions.
Helen will be remembered for her caring heart, her dedication to her family, and the lasting impact she had on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
The family sincerely appreciates and is forever thankful for the professional, knowledgeable and kind and compassionate services of Compassus Hospice, including the nurses, CNAs and staff. Family is also truly grateful for the outstanding devotion, care, and professional services from the memory care staff of The Ivy Pueblo. They are our family now.

Condolences to Gena and Trey on your loss. Helen was my 2nd mom in high school. I have many wonderful memories of our time together. I was very blessed to know her.
