Resided in: Pueblo, CO

Hazel Mildred Johnson 'Grandma' departed this world easily and quietly on the morning of Friday, May 16, 2003. Born September 23, 1907, in Hayes Center, Nebraska to Emmit and Effie Stumpff, she was the eldest of five children. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Owen Henry; her two sons, Alvin O. and Leonard L. Johnson; and her two brothers, Lee and Darrell Stumpff. She is survived by her sister, Leona Brunkhardt and by her sister, Marjorie and husband Vic Brunkhardt. She is also survived by two daughters-in-law, Doris Jean (wife of Alvin) and Diane Seelye (wife of Leonard) Johnson, and by numerous grandchildren, including two, great-great grandchildren. Of her many, many friends no one was kinder or more steadfast in the last 20 years than Carrie Lewis. With the full support of Carrie's husband Ken, Carrie was the principal caretaker of Grandma and someone who had Grandma's complete and total trust. If Grandma has any regrets in passing, it is surely only that she must for now, leave behind her dear friend Carrie. We will all miss Grandma but she will live with us in our hearts. She will lie in state at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Graveside service, 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2003, at the Mountain View Cemetery with the Reverend Ray Hawkins officiating.
