Harvey M. Hilvitz, 78, passed away March 14, 2012. Survived by his wife of 26 years, Sandy Hilvitz; children, Stephanie (Greg Rodriguez) Hilvitz, Lisa Robb, Bruce Hilvitz, Tammy (Andy) Brennan and Larry Schrock; brothers, Phil (Joni) Hilvitz and Art (Marge) Hilvitz; grandchildren, Jessica Hilvitz, Jennifer (Rikki) Smith, Ashley Brennan, Kelsey Robb, Max Robb and Tess Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Lily Smith and Brennan Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Jorja Beth. Harvey was born to Sam and Pauline Hilvitz on Sept. 26, 1933, and was a lifetime Pueblo resident. Along with his family, he owned and operated Boston Food Products Company and LaTolteca Foods, Inc. Harvey also owned Hilvitz-Hansen Advertising Agency. Harvey loved Pueblo and was active in many organizations which promoted Pueblo. He was a lifetime member of Temple Emanuel, founding member and past president of Crime Stoppers of Pueblo and consequently served on the National Board of Crime Stoppers, president of the Hundred Club, past president and member of the CSU-P Foundation, member of Kiwanis Club of Pueblo, Silver State Lodge No. 95, A.F. & A.M, Southern Colorado Consistory and Al Kaly Shrine. He enjoyed playing tennis and was a member of the Dawn Patrol. At his request, there will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, in the Hoag Hall at CSU-Pueblo, 2200 N. Bonforte Blvd., with Rabbi Birdie Becker presiding. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to Crime Stoppers of Pueblo or Wetmore Wildlife Rehab Center, in care of Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003.
