Harold H. Hess, 88, passed away Sept. 22, 2007. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy Hess; children, Duane Hess, Dennis (Linda) Hess, both of Great Bend, Kans., Linda (Eldon) Dirks of Ulysses, Kans., Debbie (Jack) Skelton of Pueblo; sister, Mary Norma Schulte of Spearville, Kans.; brothers, Howard (Mona) Hess of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and Lonnie (Sallie) Hess of Holly, Colo.; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Mary Hess; and brother, Dallas Hess. Harold was born April 26, 1919, in Lamar, Colo., and lived in Kansas many years. Harold and Dorothy were married on July 11, 1941, in Dodge City, Kansas. After his retirement as a pressman, he enjoyed woodworking. There will be visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2007, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Graveside service, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at Mountain View Cemetery (Please use west Acero Ave. entrance) with the Reverend Dr. Rick Calhoun officiating.     Sorry to hear Uncle Harold. You both were good to Ed and I. We still have all the things he made for us. When I close my eyes I see Aunt Etta, Aunt Gloria, Uncle Harold, Mom, and Dad sitting around a table eatting mom’s cinnamon rolls and drinking coffee looking down on us from heaven and they are all healthy and smiling.
