HAROLD ELMER 'PETE' MEDILL, 74, of Colorado City, Colo. Born of goodly parents, Ralph Clayton and Katie May (Becher) Medill, on December 21, 1932. His life ended on February 10, 2007. Predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Earl R. and K. Wesley, and his sister, Katherine F. Medill. Harold is survived by his loving wife, M. Diane (Cornelison) Medill of almost 27 years; nine wonderful children, Paula (Michael) Burgett, Pipe Creek, TX, Terry (Richard) Lightburn, Tucson, AZ, Mark E. (Robin) Medill, Wilmont, MN, Jana (Virgil) Whitaker, Chickasha, OK, Leanne (Merle) Bowen, Byers, CO, Travis J. (Tammie) Medill, Evans, CO, Heidi (Dale) Robertson, Oshkosh, WI, Sarah Medill, Colorado City, CO and Justin T. Medill, Grand Junction, CO; his grandchildren, Katie (Dean) Hinson, Harlen (Jodi) Burgett, Clayton (Sarah) Burgett, Anna (Clint) Johnson, Amandalynn (Jeremy) Lemon, Alonna Risch, Denan Lightburn, Matthew Medill, Brody Medill, C.W. Cate, Jessica Cate, Jason Whitaker, Colton Bowen, Desiree Bowen, Melissa Bowen, Randy Medill, Toni Medill, Jake Medill, Zachery Robertson and Ashley Robertson; and great-grandchildren, Jaylyn, Cade and Cody Hinson, Livia Burgett, Michael, McKay, and Kate Burgett, Madison and Savanna Johnson, Cameron, Terilyn and new baby Lemon, Conner Risch, Dakotah Whitaker, Dreyson and Robbie Mead, Kimber, Rylea and Kennah Whitaker. Harold is also survived by his brother, Harlow C. (Jan) Medill; two sister-in-laws, Ruth and Mary Louise Medill; mother-in-law, Ruth Cornelison; brothers and sisters-in-laws, James 'Buz' (Marilyn) Cornelison, David (Connee) Cornelison, Paula (Joe) Casarez and Jeanne (Mike) Worthey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends in Delta and the Rye area. Harold was a wheat and dairy farmer for most of his life until he retired in 2003. His family was the light of his life. He enjoyed family gatherings and holidays. They were always times of celebration. Woodworking and carpentry brought many hours of joy to his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, horseback riding, fishing and being in the mountains. He also enjoyed reading and sports, basketball and football being his favorites. Harold's dry sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all. He was a friend to all- both young and old. Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2211 Coolidge Avenue, Rye, CO. Dedication of the grave at Brookside Cemetery, Rye, CO. There will be a dinner following at the Rye Home Methodist Church.     We are so sorry to hear of harolds untimely departure. We were very close during school and for severl years before he moved to Delta. He will be missed. We are so sorry taht time and distance prevent us from being there ,but our thoughts are with you.
