Gordon L. Bothwell, 94, went to be with our Lord, on May 26, 2018. Survived by his niece of the family home, Debbie Watkins; friend and 'partner,' Henry 'Rodney' Sears. Those that called him Dad, Walter Menge, Mark Menge and Barbra Berry; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 60 years, Evelyn Bothwell; brothers, Richard Bothwell, Bud Bothwell, James 'Rex' Bothwell; sister, Sharon Cowles; and best friend and nephew, Buddy D. Bothwell. Born to Amos 'Jack' and Leila Bothwell, on Feb. 10, 1924, in Turin, Iowa. Gordon served his country in the Army, as Paratrooper and Radio Technician, during WWII, serving in the South Pacific. He received several decorations and citations, including Purple Heart Medals. Gordon owned and operated a stucco company since 1954, until retiring. He was a Golden Age member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #3367. Viewing, 4 to 6 p.m Thursday, May 31, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018, at West Street Baptist Church, 1001 West St., with Pastor Doug Morris and Pastor Ken Wood officiating.
