Gerald 'Jerry' G. Mattson, 71, formerly of Munising, Mich.; passed away April 14, 2008, surrounded by loved ones, in Pueblo, Colo. He is survived by his son, Jerry (Mary) Mattson Jr.; daughter, Susan (John) Brekke; sister, Evelyn 'Dolly' Kallio; grandchildren, John Brekke Jr., Greg Wellesley, Tyler Mattson, Ryan Mattson, Dwain Henderson, Shanna Henderson, Lea Anna Henderson, Joseph Iacobelli and Ashley Iacobelli. Jerry is also survived by his beloved companion, Viola Iacobelli. He was 'dad' and 'grandpa' to many others. Jerry was born February 20, 1937, in Forest Lake, Mich., to Yalmer and Mary Mattson. He graduated from Munising High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He retired after more than thirty-five years of service with the AT&SF Railroad. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Military honors by Pueblo Veterans' Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make memorials, in his name, to the American Cancer Society or the Sangre de Cristo Hospice, through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, P.O.   1. Knew Jerry (and his family) while he still lived in Forest Lake, Michigan during the 1940’s & 1950’s. As i joined the Navy in 1950 i did not have much contact with him after that. My prayer’s are with his family & frineds. God Bless,,Bernie

  2. I work at Pass Key on Highway 50 and always loved when Jerry came in. I always knew when the Rockies were losing because he would come in to get a Pass Key. He always had a smile on his face and he loved to talk about his kids and grandkids. I will always have a special place for him in my heart and will think of him on our birthday, since we share the same one. He was a very nice man and I will miss seeing him come into the restaurant.
