George F. Wallis, 95, passed away June 1, 2001. Survived by his wife, Evalyn Wallis of the family apartment; son, Richard D. (Marion) Wallis, Burnsville, Minnesota; son-in-law, Richard S. Brown, Bellevue, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Doris Mullins; brothers-in-law, Elmer (Betty) Watters and Robert (Dee) Watters; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn A. 'Mitzi' Brown on April 5, 1999 and his parents, Ambrose B. and Bertha B. (nee Knapp) Wallis; 5 brothers; and 1 sister. Born July 19, 1905, in La Junta. He graduated from the La Junta High School and graduated with an electrical engineering degree from CU Boulder. He married Evalyn Watters on June 22, 1936, in Rocky Ford. Member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church for over 50 years, life member Pueblo Engineers Society, and life member of Pueblo Charter Lions Club. He retired from CF&I Steel Corp in 1970 as an electrical engineer, after 29 years of service. At his request, there will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward crematorium. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2001, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 107 East Routt Ave., with the Reverend Timothy Goettel officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make memorials to the Colorado Boy's Ranch in La Junta or charity of choice, through the funeral home.
