George F. Brunkhorst, 86, passed away at home on May 21, 2010. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elda Brunkhorst; daughters, Deborah (Jerry) Hall, Frances (Tim) Abrahamsen of Pueblo West; son, Martin Brunkhorst of Pueblo; brothers, Lloyd Brunkhorst of St. Louis, Mo. and Dr. Gene Brunkhorst of Cape Girardeau, Mo., sister, Joan Meyers of Tampa, Fla.; and granddaughter, Emily Abrahamsen of New York City. George was born on July 30, 1923, to George R. and Loretta (Buechele) Brunkhorst, who preceded him in death, as well as his granddaughter, Dawn (Brunkhorst) Meadows. George spent most of his working life with Lincoln National Life of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and as a securities salesman with Edward D. Jones and Company and with Dain Bosworth of Minneapolis, until his retirement in 1995. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 275 West John Powell Blvd., in Pueblo West, with the Rev. Ben Roberts officiating.
