George E. Abel

George E. Abel, 84, born June 30, 1929, in Pueblo, Colo., passed away peacefully on June 28, 2014. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna; son, Tim Abel; daughter, Sandra (Mark) Canfield; granddaughter, Tiffani (Will) Holubek; great-grandson, Joey Holubek and another on the way. Also survived by siblings, Barbara Martin, William (Jo Ann) Abel; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Beatrice Abel; brothers, Homer and James. George was Past Exalted Ruler and life member of B.P.O. Elks #90, member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, longtime member and volunteer at the Pueblo County Historical Society, and a member of Beulah United Methodist Church for 58 years. He enjoyed building trailers, camping, hunting, fishing and walking his dogs. Viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. Service, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Beulah United Methodist Church.
