George Bryan Smalling, 69, passed away August 7, 2006. Survived by his wife, Mary, of the family home in Colorado City, Colo.; children, Denise Smalling, of Modesto, Calif., Debra (Bob) Stewart, of Vacaville, Calif., Jimara (Patrick) McFarlen, of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; sisters, Jewel Parsons, of Tulare, Calif., Virginia (Tom) Smalling Corriea, of Oakhurst, Calif., Carol Smalling, of Tulare, Calif.; brothers, Jerry (Janet) Smalling, of Newport Beach, Calif., James (Cathy) Smalling, of Lakewood, Calif., Douglas Smalling, of Morongo Valley, Calif.; two grandchildren, Michael Smalling and Christopher Stewart; one great-grandchild, Matthew Stewart; mother-in-law, Eleanore Sokolowski; and 16 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his first wife, Judy; parents; and brother, Larry Smalling. George was born to George W. and Hazel Smalling on Aug. 20, 1936, in Blanchard, Okla. and lived most of his life in California. He owned and operated his own electrical business. His hobbies included reading, fishing, hunting and most of all he loved his family. There will be viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, in Rye, Colo. with the Msgr. Marvin Kapushion officiating.
