George Albert Dysinger, of Pueblo West, Colorado, formerly of Hooker, Oklahoma, passed away November 22, 2004, at the age of 90. George A. was born in Rosebud, New Mexico on March 25, 1914, to George Edwin Dysinger and Hattie Potter Dysinger. The family moved to a farm northwest of Hooker Oklahoma in 1918. He attended school in Hooker where he graduated in 1932. He graduated from Panhandle A & M College and went on to earn his Masters in Chemistry from Oklahoma State University. George A. married Vivian Pittman, the love of his life, in January 1936. To this union was born 5 children: Myrna Jean, George Charles, David Michael, James Russell, and Mark Errol. George A. and Vivian were married for 68 years. George A. was a 33 Degree Mason. He was the secretary of Blue Lodge 366 of Hooker for over 20 years and a member of the Scottish Rite of Guthrie Oklahoma. George earned the distinguished Medal of Honor and held the 'A' certificate lecturer of the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma. He was a member of the Knight of the Rose Croix. He was a member of the Hooker Methodist Church, being added to the Cradle Roll in 1918. In 1984, he retired from the family owned business, The P. & O. Cleaners. He was in a singing group called The Gospel Singers that sang for local events and funerals. George A. was a member of the Hooker Board of Education, serving the school for over 30 years. He and Vivian enjoyed collecting and refinishing antiques. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, daughter, Myrna Jean Witt, son, Mark Errol, grandson, Michael Shane, brother, William Dysinger and his parents. Survived by sons, George Charles and Evelyn Dysinger, David Michael Dysinger, James Russell and Debora Dysinger; son-in-law, Henry Witt; grandchildren, Rebecca and Brant Dunn, Henry Jay and Lisa Witt, Deborah and Rod Clark, George Robert and Summer Dysinger, Daniel and Karen Witt, Phillip and Lisa Dysinger, Renee and Tom Metzner, Stacye and Ty Bradley, Tonja Dysinger, Gina and Matt Powe, Chris Dysinger, Russell Dysinger, Timothy and Marcie King, Josh and Jessica King and Ahniwake Dysinger; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Amy, Hilary, Nathan, and Bethany Dunn, Jesse and Leah Witt, Katie, Levi, and Anna Clark, Ben, Josh, Zach, and Luke Witt, Taylor and Paige Wallace, Danielle and Austin Metzner, Arrianna and Blake Dysinger, Sierra Dysinger, Brendon Dysinger, Audrey Powe, and Olivia King; great-great granddaughter, Marguerite Jean Dunn; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Dysinger, Billie Schnaufer, and Oteka Rodman Thomas; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Hooker Oklahoma with Rev. Rick Trobaugh officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery.
