Gene E. Martin, 92, passed away September 24, 2017. Survived by wife, Mabel; children, Char (Joe) O'Brien, Ed (Betsy) Martin, Jeff (Eloisa) Martin and Ben Martin; seven granddaughters; one grandson; 14 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and two nieces. Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters. Gene was born to Sophia and Clifford Martin on Jan. 13, 1925, was a USN Seabee in WWII and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a switchman. After retirement, he became a credentialed preacher and lay minister. Gene taught shop at the American Indian Bible College in Phoenix, Ariz. and enjoyed rock collecting and wood working. He was a member of Desert Cove Assembly of God in Phoenix and attended Praise Assembly of God in Pueblo. Viewing, 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and funeral service, 2 p.m. Thursday, October 5, both in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel.   1. My sincere condolences. Gene was such a kind man. He would visit with us daily at PCC for years. This past year we have missed him! But he had been on our minds often. Rest In Peace Gene. You are missed. I’m sorry I missed the service I just found out in a meeting at PCC. That’s how much he was loved on our campus so many of us were saddened by the news.
