Frank S. Canchola, 78, passed away Jan. 30, 2015. Survived by his wife and best friend, Mary Ann; daughter, Dr. Patti; stepmother, Mary Canchola; sisters-in-law, Patsy Nunez and Peggy (Alan) Nowicki; siblings, Andy (Karen), Tony, Louie and George (Yvonne), Margie Aragon, Angie (Manuel) Gallegos, Eleanor Mosco, Mary Ann Sabin, Ruthie Ontiveros, Virginia (Ken) Patterson, Vickie Dorffler, Chevela (Ron) Rael and Juanita (Phil) Mascarenas; nieces, nephews, other relatives including the Olivas family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary (Olivas) Canchola. Frank served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany attaining the rank of Sgt. 1st Class with Secret Intelligence clearance. He then went on to the University of Southern Colorado. He owned and operated Mr. C's Restaurant in Penrose for over 30 years. Frank loved growing flowers and feeding wildlife. His smile, generosity, compassion, amazingly wonderful energy and joyous presence will be forever missed by all who knew him. He never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. The family would like to thank his '...Oh so special neighbors...' who checked in on him and left happy messages. Per Frank's request, there will be no services. Cremation has taken place.   2. We are so sorry to hear of Mr C’s passing and our prayers continue for him and the family. Our family first met him when I worked at the Portland cement plant in 1981 and had lunch at the restaurant frequently. I was stranded at Swallows road on the way to work one snowy morning and Frank stopped and took me to work! I’m glad that I saw him at the grocery store this past fall and had time to visit with him.
