Francisco Manuel 'Chicote' Garcia, 72, passed away Feb. 10, 2012. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary M. Garcia; children, Frances A. (Welles) Tonjes of Jefferson, Colo., Mark A. (LeAnne) Garcia of Aurora, Renee A. (Leon) Garcia of Pueblo and Lawrence P. (Malaika) Garcia of Pueblo; siblings, Joe Garcia, Mary Sena, JoAnn Garcia, Loretta Martinez and Gerturde Espinoza; grandchildren, Tiffany, Carolyn, Shannon, Gerad, Myacolby, Kylie, Trysten, Valencia, Marley and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Donovan. Preceded in death by parents, Joe and Celia Garcia; and sisters, Tomasita Balles, Dorothy Balles and Elizabeth Chavez. Chicote was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Las Vegas, N.M. He served in the U.S. Navy for six years and later worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed leatherwork. Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Pueblo Charros Association. Viewing, 4 to 6 p.m. Monday in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at St. Joseph Church, 1145 S. Aspen Rd., with the Rev. Father Gleeson as celebrant.
