Francis Xavier Cannaday, 89, of Pueblo West, Colo., passed away April 8, 2011. Survived by his wife, Mary Cannaday; sisters-in-law, Louise McKelvy of Denver and Catherine Meyer; brother-in-law, Dr. Russell (Mary K.) Cramm of Olathe, Kan.; nephews, Stephen Cramm of Colorado Springs and Paul (Julie) Cramm of Overland Park, Kan. Francis was born to Frank William and Rosario Cannaday on Jan. 8, 1922, in Madrid, Spain. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as a geologist /mining engineer. Scripture service, 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment, Friday, Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

  1. I did not know Francis Cannaday directly. We only share our last names. But I did discover one of his scientific paper from long ago for research on my own paper. His paper was titled Modulus of Elasticity of a Rock Determined by Four Methods, 1964: i Cited his paper in mine. I was trying to find him to let him know.

    Rest in peace friend I never had.
