Fidel Martinez, 85, of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away Sept. 5, 2004. Born April 26, 1919, in Aguilar (Trujillo Creek), Colorado. Fidel is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Mary Lou; sons, Bobby (Ruth) of Denver, Fidel Jr. (Kathy) of Albuquerque, N.M., James (Rosie) of Round Rock, Texas, Randy (Lori) of Calif., Samuel (Juanita) of Ft. Collins and Timothy (Stella) Martinez of Calif.; stepdaughters, Deborah (Bobby) Perez and Diana (Richard) Cox, both of Calif.; stepsons, Robert, Gilbert, Stephen, Daniel (Peggy), and Samuel Lee, all of Calif; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Mary) and Alex (Ramona) Martinez; sister Benina Duran; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Encarnacion Martinez; sisters, Asencion, Neolia, Ernestine and Emily; and brother, Nash. Fidel was a WWII Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. He was a devoted member of Belmont Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He will be deeply missed by his wife, family and friends. Visitation Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept 10, 2004, at the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with Leo Derrera officiating. Military honors by Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team and interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
