Evelyn M. Boss

Evelyn M. Boss, 73, passed away October 21, 2002. Survived by her husband, Marion L. Boss of the family home; daughters, Melissa (Dale) Kleinert of Moscow, Idaho, and Julie (Dennis) Lockett of Pueblo; sisters, Roma (Charles) Tuttle of Quinter, Kansas, and Virginia Pelton of Laguna Hills, California; and grandchildren, David Mauchley, Paul Kleinert, Trent and Amy Lockett. Preceded in death by her brother, Keith Selby. Evelyn was born June 15, 1929, in Dighton, Kansas. She received her Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master's Degree from Adams State. She taught in Pueblo School District No. 60 for 31 years, retiring in 1995, at Ascension Preschool for 7 years, and most recently volunteered at Sunset Park Elementary School. Evelyn was recognized for her commitment to teaching with the Colorado Teacher of the Year Award in 1992. She was an active member and elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church; also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Beta Sigma Phi, American Association of University Women, PEO Chapter DU, Pueblo Symphony Association, Rosemount Museum, Country Club, Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center and Town & Gown. She will lie in state at the funeral home today from 12 noon until 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2002, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 University Circle, with Reverend Robert Mace and Reverend Pat Hurley officiating. Concluding services and interment will be held in Quinter, Kansas.
