Essie Irene (Hockett) Hart

Essie Irene (Hockett) Hart went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband of 59 years on Wednesday, May 2, 2001. Essie was preceded in death by her husband, Preston P. Hart on November 1, 1998, and her mother, Stella Laura Hockett. Essie was born on March 22, 1922, in Branson, Colorado and lived in Pueblo for the past 35 years. A devoted and loving mother and homemaker to six children: Earl (Barbara) Hart, Linda (Grover) Harris, Nita (Jim) Bramall, Ann (Chuck) McComick, Dave Hart and Arlene (J.R.) Dawson. Essie was a wonderful grandmother to 21 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. She is survived by three sisters and two brothers. Essie was a faithful Christian who so loved the Lord and shared his word by teaching Sunday school for over 40 years and was a member of First Church of God in Christ. She will lie in state at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. today. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2001, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with Reverend Mose Ransom officiating. Interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
