She will be remembered by her neighbors, friends and all who got to know her for her whit, humor, generosity and compliments. Erma wanted people to feel good.Erna was a self-styled Zsa Zsa Gabore. She patronized restaurants and stores almost on a daily basis. Stores made her light-up like a Christmas tree. After her retirement from the Colorado State Hospital in the 1970's, Erna dedicated her life to animals and birds. She had a deep compassion for suffering, homeless, lonely and neglected animals. Provided them with food and fresh water daily and vet care. She heard their cry and responded under any weather conditions, day or late night, and greeted them with a loving word. Her main concern was, 'Who will care for them when I am gone or respond to their distress?' Donations may be made in memory of Erna to Pueblo Animal Shelter, through the funeral home. Honoring her wishes, there will be no viewing and no service. Family may be contacted through the funeral home.
