On Wednesday, January 31, 2018, Erminia Maldonado, wife, mother, daughter, and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 99. She was born on October 30, 1918, in Walsenburg, CO. Erminia will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dale (Cindy) Maldonado; Ramona Sanchez; Lorraine (Jake) Vallejo; sister, Ida Garbizo (Dave Vigil); grandchildren, Christy Sanchez (Joe Hermocillo), Leslie (Doug) Collins, Martin (Heidi) Castro, Jonathan (Amanda) Castro, Andrea (Mark) Landez, Lisa (Joel) Farwell, Brian Maldonado, Lori (Bill) Finkel, Erik (Angela) Vallejo and Marla and Jake Vallejo, Jr.; 15 Great-Grandchildren and two Great-Great Grandchildren and one on the way. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Albert Maldonado; parents, Juan Antonio Lopez and Victoria Lopez; brothers, Henry and Gilbert Lopez; and sister, Shonita Hurtado.
Erminia loved her family and will be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. She was kind and generous to everyone she knew. She loved her home and her special neighbors. Erminia was a devout Catholic and loved attending Mass.
A special thank you to Bessie Sample, who so lovingly cared for Erminia, and to Casandra and Annette the gentle caregivers with Sangre de Cristo Hospice.
Rosary, 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 and funeral Mass, 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9 both services at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2827 Lakeview, Pueblo, CO. Interment to follow at Imperial Cemetery.
