Elsie Faris, 80, went to be with the Lord Nov. 11, 2008. Elsie was born to Samuel and Gladys Carra Nov. 25, 1927, in Walsenburg, Colo. She is survived by her seven children, Harry (Marion) Faris, Sacramento, Calif., Willy (Lynn) Faris and Sam (Sherrie) Faris, Pueblo, Vivian (Bob) Ratliff, Denver, Jeannie (Randy Rowley) Earhart and Kim (Donna) Faris, Green River, Wyo. and Regina (Dean) Hildebrant, Riverton, Wyo.; sisters, Ethel (Arnold) Gardner, Margaret Karkiainen and Virginia Carra; 13 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James Faris; brothers, Sam and John Carra; and grandson, Joshua Faris. Elsie was raised during the depression and worked on the family farm in Kansas and later as 'Rosey the Riveter' during the war. She married James Nov. 25, 1946, in Raton. She enjoyed cooking, making traditional Lebanese family food and loved spending time with her family. Cremation. Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 11 am, Sat.
