Elsie A. Kocman, 92, passed away Dec. 8, 2006, at home in the company of her family. Survived by her children, Edward (Sandra J.) Kocman, Eileen (Michael) Deverich, Judy (Bob) Wertz, Marlene (Donald) Peterlin Sr., Darlene (Gene) Ley, and Joe (Pam) Kocman; sister, Lillian Galich; brother, Matthew (Agnes) Glavich; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Evelyn Vertovec; her care giver, Rita Lucero, and the Sangre de Cristo Hospice. She is preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Josephine Glavich; her husband, Rudolph 'Moon' Kocman; brothers, Frederick and Raymond; sister, Evelyn Mohorcich and granddaughter, Micheline Deverich. She was born in Pueblo on May 31, 1914. Elsie was a life member of St. Mary Catholic Church and member of St. Joe's K.S. K. J., St. Jacob's C.F.U., Slovenian Women's Union, the Slovenian Women's Birthday Club, and was a former owner of Eilers' Place. She worked at University of Southern Colorado (formerly Southern Colorado State College) as a cook and baker until her retirement in 1979. Viewing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 307 E. Mesa, with the Rev. Father Ben Bacino as celebrant.
