Eileen C. Dunphy, a loving wife and mother, 59, passed away unexpectedly December 30, 2001. Survived by her husband, Jim Dunphy; children, Michael J. Dunphy and Katie Ree Dunphy, all of the family home in Pueblo West; brothers, Jack
Gara, Tom (Therese) Gara and Bill (Judy) Gara, all of the Chicago area; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Catherine Gara; and sisters, Marie Gara and Kathleen Schumacher. Born January 22,
1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Eileen was a Benedictine Sister for 20 years. She worked
in the Chicago area and later taught at St. Scholastica in Cañon City. More recently,
she worked as a dietician for 20 years at Parkview Hospital and currently at Colorado
Mental Health Institute. Eileen was an active member at St. Pius X Church where she served on the Parish Council and taught Baptismal classes. The family will receive friends Thursday at St. Pius Church prior to and after the Rosary, starting at 6 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary 7 p.m. Thursday and the Funeral Mass will be held 10 A.M. Friday, January 4, 2002, with the Reverend Father Tom Adrians as celebrant. Both
services will be held at St. Pius X Church, 3130 Morris. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Those who desire, may make memorials to St. Scholastica in Chicago, c/o the funeral home.

I used to work at CMHIP with Eileen. I enjoyed talking to her about many different things. She was very nice to me, very caring, offering advice. She will be missed. I’d like to express my deepest sympathy to her family.
