LTC Edward D. Hoffman Jr., U.S. Army Ret., 92 passed away December 10, 2010. Survived by his children, James E. (Charlotte) Hoffman and Jeanne C. Brewer; brother, Harold C. (Jo) Hoffman; former daughter-in-law, Darla Hoffman; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret M. (McDonnell) Hoffman; grandchildren, Jennifer Hoffman and Michael L Hoffman; brother, Richard L. Hoffman; daughter-in-law, Laura Hoffman; and son-in-law, James Brewer. Ed was born to Grace L. and Edward D. Hoffman, Sr. on April 18, 1918, in Franklin, Pennsylvania. He was a serviceman in the automobile industry, was very active in square dancing with the Buttons and Bows Square Dance Club and a church choir director for many years. Ed was in World War II with the Rainbow Division-Field Artillery and later in the Army Reserves until his retirement. The family, especially Jeanne, would like to thank the staff, RN's, LPN's and CNA's who were in any way involved with the care of their father during his stay at University Park Care Center. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial prayer service, 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1145 Aspen Rd. with the Rev. William T. Gleeson as celebrant. Military honors by Colorado Army National Guard Honor Guard to conclude service.
