E. Eugene Alley “Gene,” 85, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 10 2023 in Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, CO. He was born Jan. 2, 1938, in Pueblo, CO, to James Edgar and Mary Agnes (Vadnal) Alley who predeceased him, as well as his sister, Shirley (Allen) Farris and his little princess, Squirt. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; 3 children, Jim Alley of MA, Sandra Durham of Meeker, OK, and Michael (Carroll) Alley of CO. Springs, CO; and 4 stepchildren, Gary (Mary) Hodges of Deer Park, TX, Mike Russell and Jeanie (Scott) Blackwood, both of CA, and Rob (Jody) Russell of CO Springs, CO; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 5 adopted great-grandchildren, several cousins, and many dear friends.
He retired from the CF&I as an exceptional sheet metal worker after 42 years. He was a member of Parkhill Baptist Church and a veteran of the Navy. He loved pitching horseshoes, bowling, traveling, going to Cripple Creek and Black Hawk, visiting with his buddies at the Dog Track, getting together with family and friends, going out to eat, and playing cards. He was such a good man and loved by everyone. He and Squirt are probably now enjoying their walks again up to Starbucks and back.
