Duane Anthony Jaramillo, 56, passed away May 12, 2013. Survived by children, Chantel (Mike) Baca, Daniel Jaramillo, Charelle A. Jaramillo; mother, Alice Jaramillo; brothers, Gerald and Ken; grandchildren, Izavella Adianna, Chloey Anna Rae, Xavier Baca; loving companion, Wolfer; special friends, Bill Pershin and John Myers; and family friend, Cynthia Sandoval. Preceded in death by his father, Charles Jaramillo in 2001; and granddaughter, Arabella Jaramillo in 2008. Duane was born Oct. 23, 1956, in Pueblo, Colo., to Alice and Charles Jaramillo. He was the owner and operator of Don Carlos Mexican Restaurant. He enjoyed building a very successful restaurant, music and concerts, meeting actors, actresses and musicians, raising his grandkids, and being a father to his grandson, Daniel. Duane was a member of the NRA, American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. He was also a St. Jude donator and a judge for the Colorado State Fair Fiesta Pageant.   3. May I offer my sincere condolences to you on the death of Duane. His life was too short. May your hearts find comfort in God’s Word where he states: He (God) will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God shall wipe away tears from off all faces. (Isaiah 25:8) May your loved one awaken to a world where there will be peace (John 5:28,29; Psalm 37:11) no sickness (Isaiah 33:24) and no more troubles (Revelation 21:4) throughout eternity (Psalm 37:29).     was a kind man. When we crossed paths, Mr. Jaramillo would greeted me with a smile and a firm
    hand shake. Though I only knew him threw brief encounters at the restaurant for
    Charelle’s birthday or at a festival I gave him my full respect. Loosing a good man
    like him makes me truly look back on the people in my own life and value them
    while there still hear. No matter how great you are in this life God can call
    on you at any time ‘Carpe diem’ďż˝ Seize the day.

I met him years ago at Don Carlos after I got out of the US Nave, thru Kenny, – who I served with on Battleship New Jersey in the 80’s.   9. I new Duane from Central when he was a senior and I was a freshman. He was always friendly to us newbies. My mother loved going to Don Carlos and I took her there until it closed. My Mom was sad when it closed and so will I. Great food, and lots of it. May the family be at peace with their loss.
