Dr. Herbert A. Sarton, 77, born December 1, 1924, in South Charleston, Ohio to Ollie and Oleta Sarton and was a Pueblo resident for over 25 years where he passed away on October 21, 2002. Retired Psychotherapist, Veteran of 3 years service during World War II, one of the originators of Dream Weavers, a program for children with life threatening illness. Past member of the Optimist Club, past Board member of Hospice and American Cancer Society. Active in Senior Bowling League and golf. Survived by children, David (Val) Sarton, Michael (Jerry) Jones, Patricia (Stan) Randolph, James (Linda) Sarton, Sue Anne Bale, and Robert (Wendy) Sarton; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Anne Shepard and Gerri Gorman. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister. He will lie in state at the funeral home Wednesday from 1-5 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2002, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta, Colorado. Those who desire may make memorials to Dream Weavers through the funeral home.
