Doris V. Mass, 90, went home to be with her precious Lord and Savior, Jesus on Feb. 4, 2010. Survived by her daughter, Deanna Masciantonio-Brady; son, Frank S. Mass III; granddaughters, Linda Moore, Charlotte Clemenza, Tara Banks, Christina and Michelle Mass; grandson, Gavin Brady; great-grandson, Robert Clemenza; great-great grandson, Jaden Shaw; sister, Evelyn Mattarocci; and brother, David Cox. Preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mass Jr.; daughter, Harleine Cappola; son, James Walby; daughter, Linda Rider; and great-grandson, Spencer Clemenza. Doris was born Oct. 9, 1919, in Dallas, Texas, to David and Jessie Cox. She was a telephone operator for Mountain Bell. She also worked in the Travel Shop and as a waitress at Pinon Truck Stop for 30 years; however, her primary role was that of mother and homemaker. She was dedicated to her family. Doris loved tending her beautiful flower gardens, collecting old coins, picnicking in the mountains, and cheering on her favorite football and baseball teams. She was a 62 year member of one of the oldest running clubs in Pueblo County, The Pinon Arts and Crafts Club. In addition, she led 4-H clubs during the 1950 and '60s. Viewing, from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service, 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with Pastor Shane Cannon officiating.
