Donald Edward Hofschulte, 89, passed away October 18, 2021. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Diann; sons, David (Linda) and Curt; daughter, Joan Hofschulte (Bill) Gruendeman; grandchildren, Michelle (Joe) Morris, Jason Hofschulte, Lauren (Matt) Phillips and Mark (Chloe) Gruendeman; and great-grandchildren, Holli (Jason) Morris, Kieran Morris, Makenna and Melanie Hofschulte and Nolan Phillips. Preceded in death by parents; and sisters, Frances Raas and Lorraine McSherry. Don was born to Edward and Amelia Hofschulte on November 19, 1931, in St. Paul, Minn. and worked as a mechanical engineer in the HVAC industry. While living in St. Paul, Don enjoyed raising a family including his Golden Retrievers. He enjoyed spending weekends at the cabin in Minnesota until they moved to Stone Lake, Wis. where they built a beautiful log home that Don designed. This was his dream home where he spent time fishing and enjoying “lake life.” In 1997, he and Diann moved to Colorado where he enjoyed the warm weather and mountain views. We would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their compassion and kindness during his care.
