Derek James Cordova, 20, passed away unexpectedly June 29, 2004, in Pueblo. Survived by his parents, William J. and Lori E. Cordova; and brother, Waylon James Cordova, all of Walsenburg. Also survived by many loving family and friends. Derek will be sadly missed by all that knew him. He was born October 3, 1983, in Walsenburg. Derek was currently a student at CSU-Pueblo and worked at Red Lobster. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. A memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, at the St. Mary Catholic Church, 121 E. 7th St., in Walsenburg. Online condolences, www.montgomerysteward.com
I didn’t know Derek, but he was a friend of my son, Ryan. Ryan talks with such fondness about Derek and shares stories that tell what a kind, supportive friend he was. I am thankful he was part of my son’s life. I know he was very special. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Eileen Maresca
