Colorado City, Colorado
It is with great sadness that the family of Deborah Brasselero announce her passing at the age of 69 on September 3rd, 2024. Debbie was the loving wife of Steve Brasselero (together 52 years) and beloved mother to two children, Kari Brasselero (40 years) of Austin,TX and Nikolas Brasselero (33 years) of Los Angeles, CA, and was the Grandmother of Riley Cortez (9yrs) and Indy Cortez (5yrs). Debbie was affectionately referred to as Gigi by her grandsons, who were her pride and joy and who will miss her immensely. She was a wonderfully supportive and involved mother and grandmother, and her memory will be kept alive through her children and grandchildren.
Born and raised in Colorado, Debbie moved to Texas where she raised her children, and ran her own business with her husband. She went on to work for American Airlines for close to two decades before retiring and returning to live in Colorado. Debbie was an amazing cook, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and had a lifelong love for film and music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, (Leon and Hazel Stone) and two of her sisters (Nancy Pfannenschmid and Joan Colian) and is survived by her siblings (Sandy [Harry] Minster, Barbara Forbes, Mike Stone, and Cindy Stone) and many other family members who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Debbie was one of those friends who changed and affected our lives tremendously throughout the years. I met her in the mid nineteen eighties as a client when they first moved to Fort Worth. She and Steve soon became very good friends. When they decided to sell their Rye, Colorado property, we loved Colorado so that we became the new owners which we have enjoyed tremendously for 26 years.
When she had a friend at American Airlines who had a Scottish terrier he needed to rehome, Debbie called us because we had lost our dog months earlier. Abby was the perfect dog for us for 12 years.
We celebrated Rick’s birthday with Debbie and Steve in July just 2 weeks before she became ill and was hospitalized. We loved her dearly and cherished her friendship and kindness. She will be missed.
Love,
Joanne and Rick Madar
