  1. I had known Dave for Many Many years, since before he had the Lafayette Radio store in Pueblo. He was a fellow Ham Radio Operator, WBDMQ, and a business associate with Mountain Communications. Dave was a WONDERFUL man. He would always help anyone who needed help. My deepest condolences go out to Fay Ana, brother Mark and other family members. God Bless you all..

  2. A greater soul cannot be found. Audrey and I are both grieving and send along our deepest condolences. Dave was a good friend and wonderful man. The club and Pueblo are poorer for our loss. God bless, partner. Happy Trails to you until we meet again.

  3. Dave was a very good man with a beautiful soul. It was always a blessing when his name came up on the caller ID, and I was happy to stop the clock so we could chat about life and kids and animals and everything else. While I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing, I am truly grateful that I got to know Dave as a friend.

  4. My heartfelt condolences to Dave’s family. He always had a kind word and smile when I would see him. God be with you all.

  5. To this day, still one of the best laughs…simply infectious and no matter what you were feeling, he could make you smile and before you knew it were laughing out loud!!

Mom (Nancy), Dad (Terry) & Howard…quit hogging all the good rum as Dave has joined the party in heaven!!! 🙂

  6. Fe Ana, I am so sorry to learn of Dave’s passing. My heart goes out to you my dear friend. So many people benefited from Dave’s kindness and generosity. I especially loved his feisty spirit and the way he made you laugh. Dave will be missed by so many — keeping you and your family in my prayers.

  8. Dave was an East High classmate of mine. It was a pleasure to have known him. Thinking about Dave recently, it occurred that if I was asked to name someone who was not only a decent human being but “a genuinely nice guy,” that would be Dave. I’ll regret not being able to see him again, and my condolences to his family.

  9. I loved this guy. I can’t believe he’s gone. Such a great “radio” guy, Bessemer and Pueblo supporter. What a loss to our community. My compassionate, best wishes to his family.

  10. Our condolences to Fe Ana and the Balsick family from Wisconsin. We had a marvelous visit at the Balsick Family Reunion in March 2015. We are so sad to hear of David’s passing. He even showed us the engine in my icon (73 years later). A reunion pic is at: http://balsick.central58.org/a

  11. I did not know Dave well, but I did admire him and enjoyed him with the big bird on his shoulder at the blessing of the animals at First Church. My heart and prayers are with you all.

  12. So sorry for your loss. I worked with Dave when he was with the City of Pueblo. He was a great employee and a great person.

  13. I knew David from high school… What a great individual. God speed, and condolences to the family.. Our prayers are with you.

  14. My heart is broken over the loss of this wonderful man. He did such wonderful work while serving on the Board of Directors at NeighborWorks and it was such an honor to get to know him over the past 10 years while I worked there. His love for animals and passion for the community will certainly be greatly missed. God Bless you Fe Ana, my prayers go out to you and the family.

    Love,

    Rita

  15. My condolences go out to the Balsick family. Dave will be greatly missed. I worked in the telecommunications field with the Balsick family since 1985 and I have many great memories of radio site visits, chatting on the telephone, having business lunches and resolving interference issues. Dave was very methodical about RF issues and always had a solution for any given problem. Also, he was very grateful and thankful for his family and friends. God Bless!

  16. I am so sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. I was shocked to hear when I called Deb earlier today. Dave was my customer and a great resource for me with all his experience in the field of radios! He taught me a lot. I will miss our long conversations about life, work and his family. God Bless!

  20. I am sorry for your loss Fe Ana, he was a great guy and I will miss him tremendously, he was a big help in keeping track of fellow students, he’d find some and I would find some and tell him about them. So we both kept track of everyone. You will be missed, Dave, at least you aren’t suffering anymore, you had more than your share of illnesses. God bless you, Fe Ana, Love you both. RIP, Dave.

  21. Unbelievably sad and shocking to get the call from Fe Ana yesterday. My thoughts are with everyone. Fe Ana, Mark, Deb, Krista, Marvin, and even Howard, Nancy and Terry. Lots of great times with everyone for many, many years. Since 1973 for me, wow! Happy thoughts and big hugs.

We all need to get through this difficult time by remembering and sharing the happy times spent together. Dave always had a smile on his face and always tried to look at the bright side of life. He had his share of health issues over the past few years, but trudged through it all, except for this last issue. He will be missed by many people. Rest in peace now, Dave.
