Darlene J. 'Darla' Ley, 63, affectionately known as 'G. Grandma Kitty,' passed away Sept. 24, 2009. Survived by her husband of 22 years, Eugene 'Gene' Ley Jr.; children, Sherry L. Baker, Pueblo, Kriste (Sam) Ingo, Pueblo, Michelle (Dan) Condit, Appleton, Wis., Charles Chigro, Pueblo, Elizabeth (Josh) Spence, Pueblo, Tina (Brian) O'Grady, Pueblo and Jed (Aya) Ley, Portland, Ore.; twin sister, Marlene (Don) Peterlin; other siblings, Eileen (Michael) Deverich, Judy (Bob) Wertz and Joe (Pam) Kocman, all of Pueblo; sister-in-law, Sandy Kocman, Pueblo; 21 grandchildren; and great-granddaughter, Adrianna Maese. Preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph 'Moon' and Elsie Kocman; brother, Pudgy Kocman; and grandson, 'Sammo' Ingo. Darla was born March 22, 1946, in Pueblo. She was a cheerleader for three years at Pueblo Catholic High School and homecoming queen her senior year in 1964. Darla worked for the Pueblo County Treasurer and later as a manager of the shoe department at Fashion Bar. Viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Rosary, 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, and funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, with the Reverend Father Ben Bacino as celebrant. Both services at St. Mary Church, 307 E. I fell in love with the first time I saw you and when you asked me out to that picnic in Buelah back in 1961,I was so excitied that you would ever want to know me . MY life was consumed by all my thoughts of you, everyday even during the times we were not togethewr. Now that we are apart physically again, we will see each other again and be reunited, Wait for me, I’ll see you again, pray for me.     I am so sorry that Darla left us so soon. I often think of you and wonder how all of you are. We have some real fun and good memories, don’t we? Marla “MBF”, Judy the great and funny big sister and Gene the “good looking” boyfriend. There is so much to remember..Darla will always be alive in our minds and hearts.
