Daniel F. Santry III, 79, passed away on Jan. 5, 2019. Dan was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., on April 20, 1939. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon; children, Michele (David) Edwards, Kevin (Cheryl) Santry and Dana (Kyle) Horne; grandchildren, Kevin (Brandan) Edwards, Taylor (Sophia) Santry, Rebecca Edwards, Tyler Santry and Casey Horne. Dan was an educator in District 60 for 33 years, coached baseball, softball, basketball and track at the middle school level. He refereed football and basketball for over 20 years. He was a member of Eagles Lodge 149 and Ascension Episcopal Church. Dan's passions were spending time with his family and playing golf with his friends. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Ascension Episcopal Church, 18th and Grand Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan's name to Assistance League Pueblo Scholarship Fund, 515 Chester Ave., Pueblo, CO 81003 or Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 1207 Pueblo Blvd. Way, Pueblo, CO 81005.     I was so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. He was such a good guy when I taught with him at Pitts. He was a friend to all of us. Remember all his memories And they will keep you going. My sympathy is with all of you at this time.

  3. I’m sorry to hear the passing of Mr. Santry.i never had him as a teacher , but I remember him always being involved with after school sports at Pitts in the 80’s He was very encouraging and easy to talk to.rest in paradise Mr.Santry.

  8. I am so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. I will miss him joking with me when I call in our softball scores. He always liked to joke, but also give praise for a teams hard work.

  10. So sorry to hear of Mr. Santry’s passing. He was my favorite teacher in middle school and introduced me to the game of golf which I still love and play today. I remember reading dramatic plays in class as Mr. Santry would walk about the room with a pitching wedge or some such club imparting swing tips! Wonderful memories of his teaching.

  19. So sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. Thankful for having him as a grade school teacher and mentor. He was a guiding influence especially athletically to so many kids at Sunset Park.
