Daniel Edward Carleo, 59, passed quietly with his family at his side on Thursday, September 29, 2016, the Feast Day of Saint Michael the Archangel. Daniel is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marla, and his children, Alexandra, Zachary and David. Also cherishing their memories of him are his beloved mother, Dorothy Carleo; and his brother, Gerald (Sharon) Carleo; sister, Janis (Walt) Pickard; sister-in-law, Paula Carleo (Thomas deceased); and brother-in-law, Anthony (Sherry) Fossceco. Daniel was a loving Uncle to Laura Fossceco, Nicholas (Alicia) Carleo, Brandon Carleo, Ryan Carleo, Derek Carleo, Courtney Pickard, Geoff Pickard, Grant and Stephany Pickard. He was predeceased in death by his father, Louis Carleo; his brother, Thomas Carleo; and his mother and father-in-law, Alven and Josephine Fossceco. Daniel was born in Pueblo Colorado at St. Mary Corwin hospital on January 30th, 1957. He graduated from Central High School in 1975 and from CSU-Ft. Collins in 1979. Daniel had been a CPA since 1982. He established his own firm in 1996. He recently sold his business to his dedicated associates and dear friends, Jane Urenda, and Greg Jones. Dan's most important priorities in his life were his love for God, family, and friends. His loving generosity to his family, friends, and anyone in need, displayed his deep and everlasting love for our Lord Jesus Christ. Dan met his challenges with Multiple Sclerosis with faith, courage and humor. He had a special devotion to the rosary and recited it daily. Daniel enjoyed being a part of many different organizations and committees over the years, some of his most fulfilling roles were serving as a Confirmation Teacher at the Shrine of St Therese, and also teaching Marriage Preparation classes at OLM. The Rosary for Dan will be held at Our Lady of the Meadows at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016. Dan's funeral will be at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Meadows on Wednesday, October 5th, 2016, with the Rev. Msgr. James Koenigsfeld as celebrant. Cremation, Montgomery and Steward Crematorium.     I so enjoyed Dan’s company in the years he served on the Boy Scout executive board. He was funny and brutally honest and spoke highly all the time of his family and love for God. I will miss him dearly.

  7. Condolences to the family of Dan Carleo. We enjoyed working with Dan and his family during the Graneros Gorge issues with Colorado City a few years ago. He always had a positive attitude and was gracious to everybody. Tom and Marilyn Olson.

    What a shame to lose a Great Man at such a young age. Dan took care of our Aunts taxes for many years, even after she died, and Always took the extra time to help with the Technical problems that the IRS puts on us. We could call Dan anytime with a question and we did and he NEVER turned us away. God bless you Dan! You will be Truly missed by one and all. Our prayers go out to your Family. Until we meet again.   12. I’m sorry I never met Dan’s family, but I’ve known Dan (Danny) since 7th grade. He was always so much fun in Jr. High and High School. I moved way away and sort of lost touch, although my mother would keep me informed as much as she could as long as she could. God Bless you and hold you in his hands til we meet again Rev. 21:3&4

    The Gjerde family is so very sorry for your loss. You had a one of a kind husband and father. We loved Danny so much and can feel the loss of his presence. He had the best sense of humor despite that darn MS, always made people laugh, always generous, devoted to his family, and a true gentleman. He will be missed! We are praying for all of you in the days, weeks, and months ahead. I am sure he will be watching over you all from this day forward and I know he is so proud of his kids.

  15. My condolences to the Marla Carleo and the Carleo Family on the loss of Dan. I worked with Dan many years when I was with the Pueblo Chamber. For the last 18 years, worked on the same building so I saw him often. Will miss his smile.

He had such a big heart, and was extremely caring, intelligent, and devoted to God and the wonderful members of his family. Dan’s humor was contagious. Dan will really be missed, but he lives on in Ali, Zach, and David.

  24. Dan was a great person. He loved his wife, family and friends with his heart.
    He was always there to lend a hand and made you feel like you were part of his Italian family. I especially remember the many times he would have a special bowl of ice water for my kids on hot summer days of walking in the Stonemoor neighborhood. He taught Jack the love of ice eating!
    What a great loss to our community, what a huge gain for Heaven.!
