Dallas F. Hijar, 62, died of an unexpected illness and went to meet her heavenly father on Aug. 27, 2009. Survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard Hijar; daughter, Vanessa (Anthony) Rendon; mother, Laura Shaufler; brother, Gary (Linda) Shaufer, all of Pueblo; numerous nieces and nephews; and her constant companion, her Maltese, Giuseppe Cesar Hijar. Preceded in death by her father, Rex R. Shaufler; and brother, Carl Shaufler. Dallas was born July 19, 1947, in Pueblo. She was a bank officer at Wells Fargo, which was formerly United Bank and Norwest. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Service, 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at Central Christian Church, 1902 N. Hudson Ave., with the Reverend Dr. David Chambers and the Reverend Randy Heaton officiating. Interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Christian Church Mission 300 Fund, 1902 N. Hudson Ave., Pueblo, Colo. 81001.
