September 5, 1942 ~ January 19, 2017

Resided in: Pueblo, CO

Dalene 'Dee' Sample Prelesnik, 74, was transferred to our Father Jesus Christ's Kingdom on Jan. 19, 2017, after a long battle with COPD and CHF which was too much to overcome. Dee was born Sept. 5, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Evelyn Sample; son, Robert Vinci; sister, Debbie Martinez; and brother, Ronald Huston. Survived by her husband of 39 years who was by her side every day, Jim 'Jonesy' Prelesnik; daughter, Diana 'Dolly' Vinci; brother, Oscar (Sky) Sample; and baby brother, Oliver 'Sammy' (Sabrina) Sample; and numerous nieces and nephews; special childhood friend, Virgie Espinoza and her family; and Dee's pet children, Rosie Marie, Lilly Mae Gracie, Charlie and Frankie. Dee was an amazing cook. She loved to garden and had special talents in decorating. Dee knew no strangers and was full of love and positive energy that she generously shared with everyone. A special day in Dee's life was when she renewed her marriage vows in the Catholic church in 2014. Dee will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her. Special thank you to Dr. Todd White, Centura nurse, Charity Meira, caregivers at Rock Canyon and special resident, Gus. Memorial service, 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 414 W. 11th. Memorials may be made to PAWS Animal Rescue Center in Dalene's honor. 1. Jonesy, Diana and the rest of Dee’s family, our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Dee was more than a great friend to us. Y’all are family.
We know Dee considered us family and that means the world to us. We know we’ll see her again, she’s dancing on streets of gold! We’re happy for her but sad for all of us. We pray that our Lord Jesus would give you His Peace that passes all understanding.
